One of the largest construction projects to begin in Sioux Falls this year is underway. The new 253-unit Westview Heights Apartments began construction in September. The complex consists of eight, three-story buildings as well as a large community building, dog park, dog wash station, two guest suites, community garden and an attractive swimming pool.
“This will be a unique complex in western Sioux Falls with higher ceilings and high-end finishes and amenities,” said Norm Drake, manager of Westview Heights Apartments, LLC and CEO of Legacy Development & Consulting Company, LLC. “The area is also well developed with multiple features nearby such as medical facilities, fitness centers and grocery and retail stores. We really expect Westview Heights will have immediate interest based on our market research.”
All building foundations have been completed, backfilled and graded. The first apartment building will open summer 2021 with the final apartment building will be complete spring 2023. Framing and roofing of the community center began this month, and the building will be complete late spring 2021, prior to the first apartment building opening.
“The community center will be a fantastic draw to the apartment complex with a theater room, game room, fitness center and a swimming pool,” added Drake. “Westview Heights is also pet-friendly and will be attractive to residents who have pets with the fenced-in dog park and dog wash station.”
Marketing and leasing activity for the property will begin early 2021, several months prior to the first building opening.
