The Area Census Office for Census 2020 operations in South Dakota is officially into their space at Equity Square. They are leasing 7,340 square feet on the first floor with some of the best views of the Big Sioux River in downtown Sioux Falls.
The 2020 Census counts every person living in the United States and five U.S. territories, and this census is conducted every 10 years by the U.S. Census Bureau. The Census Bureau is opening nearly 250 area census offices around the country to support the 2020 Census. The offices house the managers, staff, materials and equipment needed to support Census Bureau employees conducting local census operations, including following up with households that do not respond, counting residents living in group housing and more.
“We feel fortunate to have the Area Census Office at Equity Square,“ said Norm Drake, manager of Riverview Square, LLC and CEO of Legacy Development and Consulting Company, LLC. “This is important work for our community and country, and we know the bright space with great views of downtown Sioux Falls will make this an attractive and comfortable location for their employees doing this work.”
The results of the census determine a state’s congressional representation as well as federal funding for states and communities. The United States has counted its population every 10 years since 1790.
“The Area Census Office space at Equity Square will be available for lease again in the fall of 2020, and if anyone has interest in the space, feel free to contact our office,” added Drake.
Just 5,498 square feet remains available at Equity Square between one suite on the first floor and two on the third floor.
